Hospice, Palliative, and End of Life Services V3 EN

$25.00 CAD

The World Health Organization (WHO) defines palliative care as an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problems associated with life-threatening illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification and impeccable assessment, and treatment of pain and other problems - physical, psychosocial and spiritual.

Accreditation Canada's sector and service-based standards help organizations access quality at the point of service delivery and are for organizations providing treatment and services within a hospice, a hospital on an inpatient or outpatient basis, or the home setting. They are based upon five key elements of service excellence: clinical leadership, people, process, information, and performance.

Accreditation Canada’s Hospice, Palliative, and End-of-Life Services standards contain the following sections:

  • Investing in Hospice, Palliative, and End-of-Life Services
  • Having the Right People
  • Delivering Hospice, Palliative, and End-of-Life Services
  • Enhancing Quality of Life
  • Maintaining Client Information
  • Monitoring the Safety and Quality of Hospice, Palliative, and End-of-Life Services
